Great pictures. I lived in the house across the street at 4290 Queen and had several friends that lived in the apts. and one of them moved away but he ended up buying my house when I put it up on the market. My house was built in 1909 and designed by an English architeck and he lived there until two sisters (school teachers) bought it and when they passed away it was inherited by my present wifes father-in-law who lived in boulder, CO and I bought it from him in 1968. I lived there until 1979 and paid $1,000.00 for architect to add a double garage, removed and change second plus have family room over the garage. The city of Mpls. increased the taxes so much that I changed my mind and decided to move out of the city to the lowest mill rate tax base and it happened to be Edina. One of my son lives in Denver and he found your site and referred me to it this morning. We have many fond memories of the area. Again, they are great pictures and thank you for sharing them with the world (and us) One more bit of info. I bought it in 1968 for $25,000.00. I sold it in 1979 for $119,900.00. It sold a year ago for $559,900.00.
