description
This view is from one of the footbridges over Washington Avenue, which connect the plaza in front of Coffman Union to Northrop Mall. You can see a small part of the Weisman Art Museum and it's steel skin on the far left. Washington Avenue travels over the Mississippi to the of the U of M's West Bank campus, then on to downtown. The Metrodome, Wells Fargo Tower, and the IDS tower are all visible in this picture.

I miss her a lot. Your photo really captures her beauty. It was good to see her again! Thank you!

One Curious question, and one technical. Why would you put the DATE on your photo's? You are scanning these I presume, so add it to the file name. It takes away from your shots.
Second, Are you shooting a SLR? If not, disregard this next question. Your snow is somewhat gray. Overexpose your pics about 1-1/2 stops for slide film, Center-weighted metering.
I really like the lake Harriet Summer/Winter shots. It gives me some good ideas

I'm using a point-and-shoot, a Fuju Promaster zoom. The camera puts the date on the pictures.
I agree it's a distraction, but I left this feature turned on out of concern I would quickly forget when the pictures were taken. I hope to have these photos when I'm 60, and I don't trust myself to label the back of the photo with the date.

I love this picture! I think it's one of my favorites! It makes Minneapolis look so big and intimidating. Great angle. I love the site, it shows the good sides of Mpls! Keep up the good work!

I left UofM at 97'. This is my most favourite city and school in the U.S.. I agree your point, I will buy my own digital camera for my X'mas gift to capture all my memories. Your great work makes my memories come back! Thanks!

As a freshman at the U, this picture really puts into perspective the amount of change that has come over campus in the last few years. Now, the ped. bridges in the foreground have been replaced with horizontally angled, metal-cladded bridges similar to the Weisman. A bus stop transit station has been carved into the area between the two bridges, and Coffman's renovation is almost complete (finally, after 3 years!) I am proud to go to such a progressive and beautiful school. One thing I noticed about this view: It would be improved if taken from beneath the ped. bridge it is currently taken from. I pass this area every day on my way to KolthoffH. The second bridge acts as an unintentional frame for downtown Mpls., eye candy for my daily hike to German.
