The red boats are canoes that have been decorated for a performance by the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater. They are heading to the island in Powderhorn Lake (at Powderhorn Park), where they wait for their cue to enter a play on the east side of the lake. They deliver the Tree of Life to a play by the same name, which was performed for the May Day Festival.

I just wanted to let you know that they so'nt deleiver the tree if life, the deleiver the sun puppet which raises the tree if life on the shore. Happy May Day!!!
