This is the U.S. Capital, located at the east end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It is between Constitution and Independence Avenues, and where Pennsylvania and Maryland Avenues would intersect.
The capital is home to the legislative branch of the US government. The capital dome is made from cast iron, and topped with the Statue of Freedom.
