I've come to recognize this tree as a landmark next to the bike path around Lake Calhoun. This is southwest of the lake, before the volleyball court, near Xerxes Avenue(see Yahoo!Map below). You can see some volleyball players in the background at right.

    It is a monument. Every time I bike around the lake, I always get a glance at it, always. I remember sitting on it as a child
