I have seen Circle K stores in California, but I didn't know they were in Hong Kong until I got there. 7-11 convenience stores are also in Hong Kong and the Philippines; in the Philippines they have armed security guards at every store.

    we post armed guards in 711 in the philippines to deter shoplifting, but more importantly, they act as a "check and balance" with the store crew (to reduce enterprising clerks who make the store an extension of their home refs).
