description
I took this photo on my first trip to my wife's village. We were just on an overnight bus from Manila, where we became engaged. This gravel road is from the bus stop in Badoc to her barangay (village), Las-Ud. It was sunrise and we were on a trike loaded down with suitcases. I came to visit, but also ask her parents for consent to marry her and eventually take her to live in the USA. I stayed in the Philippines for another six months, and we made one return trip to Las-Ud already -- I like it there.

beautiful sunrise! i used to swim in badoc river when i was young and catch "bunog"a tasty small fish
