You are on West Island Avenue on Nicollet Island, facing north near Grove Street. These flats have been here since before urban renewal cleared away development on Nicollet Island in the 1950s. I think they go back to 1900 or before.

While researching my husband's family tree we discovered that his great uncle lived in one of the Eastman Flats buildings. He died in a fire that broke out in his building Christmas morning, 1943.

I am pretty sure that a Marshall HS classmate of mine lived in one of these units - Penny Enz. We both graduated in 1965. Wonder where she is now? Thanks for preserving this great building with your photograph!
