This is Hurricane Region Olympic National Park in Washington state. I was about to leave the visitors area, but decided to say hello to a couple and their black lab. As I was petting the lab they said they were surprised how calm their dog was with a deer so close. I turned and saw, maybe 30 feet away, the buck in the meadow. One of life's nice surprises.
