You are at Cedar and Riverside in the West Bank neighborhood, looking north at the former Riverside Cafe. The building now has a sign that says Riverside Restaurant.

This building was once 4 stories high with a pinnacle turret on the corner. Like many beautiful buildings in the area ot lost its top. Whether it was a fire or just a bad remodeling, it is unfortunate.

I recall frequenting the Blue Goose restaurant (intersection of cedar and riverside) in 1952-1953. My favorite was the Hot Beef Sandwich with potatoes and gravy for 49 cents. Streetcars ran on both cedar and riverside. Anyone else share these memories?
