You are standing on the corner of Washington and 5th Street in St.Paul, looking northeast at the Landmark Center. This building was built in 1902 and was originally a Federal Court House and Post Office. It was restored in the 1970s and has been designated a National Historic Monument.

The Landmark Center used to be the Federal Court Building where there were several high profile court cases.
John Dillinger was tried here as was Baby Face Nelson, Machine Gun Kelly, Ma Barker and her sons, and Alvin "Creepy" Karpis and several other notorious gangsters of the 1930's.
